Thanks for visiting the blog and for sharing with others. I recently had some thoughts after a walk in the rain that refused to leave my mind until I put them on paper or shared in some way. Let me know your thoughts.

A night that taught me the power of walking through the storm. A night that revealed the wisdom hidden in every step. It all started on a cold, rainy, and windy night, when the world seemed to whisper “take a break.” I had just finished a long and exhausting day, feeling drained and low on energy. But there was something I knew I had to do: my nightly four mile walk. It was a ritual that I had followed for years, a way of keeping myself fit and healthy. But that night, it felt like a daunting task. I hesitated, wondering if I should skip it for once. But then I remembered why I started walking in the first place: to challenge myself, to grow, to learn.

As I stepped outside, the chilly breeze greeted me with an extra breath, and raindrops danced on my path. The first 30 minutes around the neighborhood felt like a challenge, each step requiring more effort than the last. The weather seemed to conspire against my determination, and I contemplated stopping at the first loop. After all, I had already covered two miles; perhaps that was enough.

However, something deep within me shifted. Instead of turning back, I chose to press on, bravely facing the impending downpour. As I continued my journey, I couldn't help but notice the profound wisdom hidden within the rain-soaked streets.

With every step, I realized that the further I ventured from my starting point, the closer I came to it. The further I get from home, the closer to home I am. It was a revelation as simple as it was profound: in the vastness of life, we are all embarked on a journey, and though the path may seem to take us far, it invariably leads us back to our origins.

In the context of our round planet Earth, this concept took on even greater significance. It became a metaphor for life itself. We can venture in any direction, explore the unknown, and confront challenges along the way. Yet, in the end, we return to our roots, to the point of origin that reminds us of our essence and our connection to the whole.

As the rain intensified, I marveled at the resilience of nature. The same rain that appeared to challenge me also nourished the earth, nurturing new growth. It reminded me that life's storms, like this one, possess the power to cleanse and rejuvenate our core. That anxiety, fear, stress and even pain responses are natural ways our body communicates with us and that they too have positive functions in our life not needing to become debilitating and harmful to our well-being.

The journey persisted, and with each step, I embraced the lessons of the night. I came to understand that sometimes, the greatest strength isn't found in avoiding storms, but in confronting them, in choosing to move forward when it would be easier to retreat.

By the time I returned home, I had not only completed my one-hour walk but had also uncovered a deep understanding. The rain had soaked not only my clothes but also my soul, leaving me with a timeless truth: "In the vast journey of life, every step away brings us closer to our inner being."

As I dried off and settled in, I couldn't help but reflect on the eternal wisdom I had encountered that night: "In life's eternal loop, every step of departure ultimately guides us, no matter how far we go, back to our very beginning."

Thus, my day of fatigue and low energy had transformed into a night of inspiration, reminding me that even in the face of challenges, there's always a path leading us back to our essence, our starting point, and the wisdom we carry deep within our being.

What would be an interesting follow up to this story:

  • Ways we can reframe our inner storms

  • Steps toward our inner being

  • Finding inspiration in the cycles of nature

  • How do we connect with our origins and true essence
